Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese has revealed that she once had a childhood crush on former Super Eagles forward Osaze Odemwingie, as she opened up about her evolving relationship with sports, fitness, and broadcasting ambitions.

Speaking about her early years, Aladese described herself as a tomboy who loved playing football.

Although she has stepped back from active sports participation, she remains passionate about watching swimming and tennis.

She admires legendary swimmer Michael Phelps and tennis icon Serena Williams, as well as Japanese star Naomi Osaka.

When it comes to Nigerian sports stars, she fondly recalled names from different generations.

From Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha to Taribo West, and her teenage crush Odemwingie, the actress said she admired their achievements.

She also praised current stars including William Troost-Ekong, Tobi Amusan, and Asisat Oshoala.

However, she expressed particular admiration for Michelle Alozie, noting her ability to balance professional football with a medical career.

Aladese drew parallels between sports and acting, emphasizing team spirit. According to her, being a lead actor does not make one more important than others on set, as every crew member contributes to a successful production.

Beyond acting, the Mass Communication graduate disclosed that broadcasting was her backup career plan.

She said renowned journalist Christiane Amanpour greatly influenced her passion for news presentation, alongside media mogul Oprah Winfrey.

On fitness, Aladese maintains an active lifestyle with treadmill sessions, crunches, planks, and skipping exercises at home. Some movie roles have also required additional physical training.

While she has no regrets about choosing acting over broadcasting, she hopes to someday portray a news anchor on screen—bringing her two passions together in one role.
