Lagos State Government is set to host the second edition of the Lagos Energy Summit 2026, aiming to fast-track energy investment, infrastructure development, and improved electricity service delivery.
Scheduled for May 18–20, 2026, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, the three-day summit is organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The summit, themed “Lagos Energy Evolution: Transforming the Future”, is designed as a high-impact platform for policy, investment, and technical collaboration.
It seeks to mobilise private sector capital, improve energy reliability, and address key challenges such as grid constraints, energy poverty, and over-dependence on fossil fuels.
Following the Lagos State Electricity Law 2024, the event represents a strategic shift from regulatory reform to bankable energy projects, building on the success of the inaugural summit.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will lead the summit, with Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as co-host, while Commissioner Biodun Ogunleye coordinates the event alongside industry stakeholders.
Participants, including government officials, financiers, developers, and innovators, will engage in plenary sessions, technical masterclasses, investment roundtables, exhibitions, and B2B matchmaking.
Focus areas include renewable energy scaling, decentralised generation, distribution infrastructure, and supporting Lagos’s 24-hour economy vision.
Expected outcomes include public-private partnership agreements, MOUs, project pipelines, and technical site visits to key energy facilities across the state.
With over 4,000 onsite and virtual attendees anticipated, the summit promises regional and international media coverage, reinforcing Lagos State’s commitment to sustainable, reliable, and inclusive energy access.
