The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has constituted three strategic committees to coordinate its State Congress scheduled for March 3, 2026.
The congress is expected to take place at the Indoor Sports Stadium at 8:00 p.m., bringing together party leaders and stakeholders to strengthen internal party structures.
According to a statement released by APC spokesperson Ahmad Aruwa, the committees were formed on the directive of the outgoing State Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Sunusi.
The initiative is aimed at ensuring a transparent, orderly, and credible congress in line with the party’s constitution and operational guidelines.
Congress and Accreditation Committee
The Congress and Accreditation Committee will manage delegate verification and oversee the voting process.
The committee is chaired by Rabi’u Bichi, while Muhammad Yusuf will serve as Secretary.
Other members include Baffa Babba, Butu-Butu, Hajiya Sa’adatu Algon, Ali Makoda, Abdullahi Rogo, Baffa Takai, Lamin Sani, Sani Ma’aruf, Sani Bala, Khalid Ishaq, Mannir Rimin Gado, and Hassan Hussain.
Publicity Committee
To ensure effective communication and media coverage of the congress, the party established a Publicity Committee led by Muhammad Garba as Chairman and Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa as Secretary.
Members of the committee include Lawan Hussaini, Jamilu Danbatta, Yusuf Sharada, Musa Liliyasu, Ghali Sadiq, Binta Spikin, Uba Dan Zainab, Ibrahim Yaro, and Ahmad Aruwa.
Security Committee
Security arrangements for the congress will be handled by a dedicated Security Committee chaired by Col. Malami.
Members include Mustapha Bakwana, Bala Albasu, CP Balarabe Musa, Group Captain Kura, Garba Sani Diso, and Air Commodore Yusha’u Sulaisu Tudun Wada.
APC Leadership Calls for Discipline and Unity
Speaking on the preparations, Aruwa expressed confidence in the committees’ ability to ensure a peaceful and successful congress.
He urged party members and stakeholders across Kano State to cooperate fully with the committees and maintain discipline during the exercise.
The Kano APC leadership also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening internal democracy, promoting transparency, and fostering unity within the party ahead of upcoming political activities in the state.
