The Head of Service, Bode Agoro, congratulated the newly appointed Accountant-General and expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen fiscal governance in Lagos.

Agoro also urged all ministries, departments, agencies, and stakeholders across the state government to cooperate with the directive to ensure a smooth transition and effective continuation of financial operations.

Strengthening Public Financial Management in Lagos

The Lagos State Government described the redeployment as a strategic decision designed to maintain efficiency, continuity, and accountability in public financial administration.

Officials noted that appointing a seasoned financial expert like Adetola John would support the government’s commitment to transparency and improved financial oversight within the State Treasury Office.

The Accountant-General plays a critical role in managing the state’s finances, supervising government accounts, and ensuring that public funds are handled responsibly in line with established financial regulations.

With this appointment, the Lagos State Government expects stronger fiscal discipline, improved treasury operations, and continued confidence in the management of public resources across the state.
