Alex Otti Promises Conducive Business Environment in Abia to Boost Aba Economy

Alex Otti has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a conducive business environment in Abia State as part of efforts to boost economic growth and attract more investors to the commercial hub of Aba.

The governor gave this assurance while receiving a delegation from the Aba Sports Club 1926 led by its Millennium President, Chief Nkene Enukeme, at the Government House.

Otti emphasized that the ongoing transformation of Aba remains a top priority for his administration.

According to him, strategic investments and infrastructure upgrades are designed to reposition the city as a major economic destination in Nigeria.

One of the key projects highlighted by the governor is the construction of the Radisson Blu – Enyimba Hotel.

He explained that the presence of a five-star hotel in Aba would elevate hospitality standards and stimulate wider economic activity in the city.

“Aba is being reinvented. The Radisson Blu–Enyimba Hotel project will automatically redefine and raise standards across different sectors,” Otti said.

He added that the development would encourage healthy competition among businesses and motivate existing hospitality operators to improve their services in order to match international standards.

Otti also congratulated Enukeme on his emergence as president of the club, praising his leadership and commitment to sustaining the legacy established by his late father.

Earlier, Enukeme stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the Abia State Government and expressing support for the governor’s reform-driven leadership.

He commended Otti’s governance style, noting that the administration has introduced fiscal discipline and focused strongly on infrastructure renewal across the state.

Enukeme further revealed that the club plans to complement the government’s development efforts by providing modern sports facilities and a golf course that will serve visitors to Aba.

However, he also highlighted several needs of the club, including remodeling its event hall, providing a fully equipped ambulance and clinic to prevent medical emergencies, and installing a functional fire hydrant system.

Government officials present at the meeting included the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Nwaobilor Ananaba; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu; and the Director-General of the Greater Aba Development Authority, Uche Ukeje.
