Craven Cottage, London – March 5, 2026 – Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi impressed with a stunning long-range strike in the Cottagers’ 2-1 Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur, earning high praise from West Ham manager Nuno Espírito Santo.
Nuno, reflecting on Fulham’s performance ahead of his own team’s next fixture, highlighted Iwobi’s contribution: “Fulham are a very good team, and Alex Iwobi’s goal shows the level of talent they have,” he said.
Iwobi’s 34th-minute strike came from a pocket of space outside the box, curling ferociously off the inside of the post and past goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
The goal marked Iwobi’s fourth Premier League goal of the season and his second consecutive league match with a goal – a first for him this campaign.
Fulham manager Marco Silva described the strike as one of Iwobi’s best, noting his ability to pick corners and deliver precise, powerful shots.
Former Premier League stars also praised the goal. Glenn Hoddle commented on its perfect trajectory, while Don Hutchison highlighted Iwobi’s exceptional placement away from the goalkeeper.
Earlier, Harry Wilson opened the scoring for Fulham before Iwobi doubled the advantage. Tottenham’s Richarlison pulled one back in the 66th minute, creating a tense finish.
Despite the late pressure, Fulham held on for the win, moving up to ninth in the league standings, while Tottenham remained 16th, enduring a 10-match winless streak.
Iwobi’s performance cements his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most talented midfielders in Europe. With his flair and finishing ability, he continues to make an impact for Fulham in the Premier League.
