The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has pledged full support for the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) spearheaded by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Speaking during a visit to the First Lady at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday, Obasa highlighted the importance of her ongoing humanitarian projects and interfaith engagement during Ramadan and Lent.
Obasa praised Mrs. Tinubu for hosting an interfaith fast-breaking event for women, noting that her efforts bridge religious communities while advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigeria’s grassroots.
“Her dedication to children, women, and youths across the country is remarkable.
From her leadership days in Lagos to her current role as First Lady, her impact continues to resonate nationwide,” Obasa said.
He further called on the wives of state governors, who also coordinate RHI programs in their states, to support her initiatives.
He emphasized that the First Lady’s work complements federal government efforts to reach citizens, and that continued cooperation at the state level is vital for maximum impact.
Obasa highlighted specific achievements of the initiative, including food distribution programs, menstrual hygiene support for secondary school girls, and other community-focused projects.
He stressed that these efforts are not for personal recognition but are in the national interest, particularly for women and children.
The Speaker also encouraged all governors to actively use the RHI platform to promote the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring Nigerians are informed about government initiatives designed to improve social welfare and community development.
By aligning state-level support with federal initiatives, Obasa believes the RHI can achieve far-reaching benefits across the nation.
He reaffirmed the Lagos State Assembly’s commitment to supporting the First Lady and urged continued collaboration to expand the reach of her programs.
The Renewed Hope Initiative, with its focus on education, health, and social welfare, is increasingly becoming a critical platform for national development, women empowerment, and youth support under the Tinubu administration.
