Legendary Fuji singer Saheed Osupa, alongside KS1 Malaika and 83 other musicians, has helped Nigeria achieve a historic milestone as the world record for the largest orchestra performing Afrobeats music.

The achievement was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records following a landmark performance in Lagos.

The record-breaking concert took place during Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre.

The event featured a massive orchestra made up of 85 musicians performing Afrobeats compositions in a coordinated and synchronized arrangement.

Organisers announced that Guinness World Records had reviewed and verified the performance, confirming it as the largest Afrobeats orchestra ever assembled.

According to the record body, the orchestra included a conductor, instrumentalists, a lead singer, choir members, dancers and a full ensemble delivering an orchestrated Afrobeats performance.

The musical showcase blended contemporary Afrobeats with elements of Fuji music, highlighting Nigeria’s rich and evolving music culture.

Alongside the Fuji legends Osupa and Malaika, the concert also featured performances from Afrobeats and street-pop artists including T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee and Dwillsharmony.

According to organisers, the concert demonstrated how Afrobeats can be transformed into a large orchestral production while still preserving its rhythmic identity and cultural roots.

The performance fused live instruments, choral harmonies and choreography to deliver a unique musical experience that captivated audiences.

Guinness World Records stated that 85 musicians performed simultaneously to set the record, making it the largest orchestra ever assembled for an Afrobeats concert.

The achievement highlights the growing global recognition of Afrobeats and Nigeria’s expanding influence on the international music scene.

The event was organised by Dapper Music and its artists, led by Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper.

The milestone further reinforces Nigeria’s reputation as a global hub for innovative music and cultural creativity.
