National News – Australian authorities have launched an investigation into sexual assault allegations involving US pop star Katy Perry, following claims made by actress Ruby Rose.
The case, which centres on an alleged incident in Melbourne, is now under review by Victoria Police, marking a significant development in a story that has attracted global attention.
Rose, known for her role in the TV series Orange is the New Black, had earlier made public allegations in now-deleted posts online.
She later confirmed that she had submitted official reports to the police, stating she would refrain from further public comments while investigations continue.
Victoria Police, while not naming Perry directly, acknowledged an active inquiry into a past incident.
Authorities emphasised that due process must be followed and declined to release additional information at this stage.
In response, a representative for Perry strongly denied the allegations, describing them as false and damaging.
The statement further claimed that similar accusations made publicly by Rose in the past had been denied by those involved.
The development adds to recent headlines surrounding Perry, who is widely recognised for hit songs such as “Roar” and “I Kissed a Girl.”
The case remains under investigation, and no charges have been announced.
