National News — The Bayelsa State Police Command has announced that the ongoing Police Constable recruitment screening exercise in the state will officially conclude on Saturday, April 18, 2026, after over one month of rigorous and transparent evaluation of candidates.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, DSP Musa Mohammed, Anipr, foosi, on April 17, 2026, in Yenagoa.
The screening exercise, which commenced on March 9, 2026, involves a comprehensive physical screening conducted by the Nigeria Police Force alongside credentials verification carried out by the Police Service Commission (PSC), aimed at ensuring only qualified and competent candidates are enlisted into the Force.
The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, Iyamah Daniel Edebor, psc, IICFIP, foosi, commended officers and personnel involved in the exercise for their discipline, professionalism, and commitment to transparency throughout the process.
CP Edebor reassured members of the public that the recruitment exercise remains credible, fair, and merit-based, emphasizing that the process is completely free of charge.
He further warned applicants and members of the public to be cautious of fraudsters and individuals attempting to extort money under the guise of facilitating recruitment, stressing that anyone found engaging in such activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The Police Commissioner also appreciated candidates for their orderly conduct and cooperation during the exercise, wishing them success as the screening process draws to a close.
The Bayelsa State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Force with capable personnel to enhance security and public safety across the state.
