National News – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has strongly refuted claims that it withdrew support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, describing the report as false and misleading.
The clarification was issued on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Kano State, Nigeria, by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Auwalu Abdullahi.
The APC stated that no recognised organ of the party, either in Kano or nationally, had made any decision to withdraw support for Tinubu.
According to the party, the alleged statement originated from a faceless group known as the Arewa APC Forum, which it said does not represent its structure or membership.
The party emphasised unity within its ranks, warning against individuals allegedly attempting to create division and tension within the political structure.
It reaffirmed its confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, noting that his administration continues to focus on governance, economic reforms, and national development.
The statement also urged party members and the general public to remain calm and ignore what it called the handiwork of mischief-makers.
Kano APC under its leadership reiterated that the claims were baseless and should be disregarded in their entirety.
It further maintained that its support for the President remains firm, structured, and unchanged, stressing that only officially recognised party organs have the authority to speak on such matters.
It added that internal communication channels remain the only legitimate avenue for official party positions, warning media organisations against circulating unverified statements.
The Kano APC also reiterated that President Tinubu continues to enjoy widespread support across party structures in the state, describing the report as an attempt to destabilise political cohesion ahead of future electoral engagements.
Party leaders called on supporters to remain focused on national development priorities and ignore politically motivated distractions.
