National News – The Nigeria Police Force has invited a TikTok content creator known as “Love” for questioning over allegations of cyberstalking, fraud, and online mischief.

The invitation follows a viral video she posted about the shelf life of a loaf from Bon Bread, which reportedly remained fresh for nearly two months.

The incident, which surfaced in April 2026, has sparked widespread debate across Nigeria’s social media space about food safety and brand reputation.

The development became public after social media influencer Lucky Udu disclosed that the TikToker contacted him upon receiving the police invitation to appear at the Force Headquarters.

According to him, the creator sought guidance as public interest in the case intensified online.

The viral video, which gained traction on TikTok, raised questions about how the bread could last unusually long without spoiling, prompting mixed reactions from users.

In a message shared online, the TikToker confirmed she had been summoned for an interview, noting that the allegations included cyberstalking and related offences.

The controversy began when she publicly questioned the bread’s durability, indirectly linking her claims to Bon Bread.

The company, led by founder Maria Abdulkadir, responded by expressing concern over reputational damage and stated that efforts were initially made to engage the creator for clarification.

Bon Bread maintained that its products are freshly baked and typically have a short shelf life unless preservatives are used.

The company explained that the situation escalated after unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue privately, leading to legal action.

Abdulkadir emphasised that while the brand supports freedom of expression, it remains committed to protecting its integrity and ensuring product quality.

As of the time of reporting, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement confirming the invitation.

However, the case continues to generate public attention, highlighting ongoing concerns around digital content, consumer claims, and corporate accountability in Nigeria.
