National News – Iran has accused the United States of not being serious about diplomacy, alleging repeated violations of a fragile ceasefire agreement and escalating military actions in the region.

According to the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, speaking in Tehran on Monday, the United States carried out actions that undermine peace efforts, including an alleged attack on an Iranian cargo ship, a naval blockade on Iranian ports, and delays in implementing ceasefire terms in Lebanon.

These developments come amid an ongoing conflict that began on February 28, which has involved Israel and the United States and has destabilized key trade routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran stated during its weekly press briefing that diplomatic engagement with Washington remains uncertain, saying that no final decision has been made regarding the next round of negotiations, which were previously held amid a two-week ceasefire that began on April 8.

US President Donald Trump reportedly directed negotiators to travel to Pakistan for further talks, but Tehran has not confirmed participation, deepening uncertainty over whether dialogue will resume.

Key points of contention include Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which remains largely restricted due to ongoing hostilities.

The statement highlights growing mistrust between both nations as tensions escalate in Tehran, Washington, and surrounding Middle Eastern territories, raising fears over global energy security and regional stability.
