National News – Former Ogun State governor and current senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, has alleged that he was denied entry into a key stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in Ijebu Ode on Monday, April 20, 2026.
In a video that quickly went viral, Daniel was seen addressing his supporters from a branded campaign bus outside the venue, Adeola Odutola Hall.
He stated that despite arriving for the Ogun East APC caucus meeting, he and his team were blocked from accessing the gathering.
According to him, the development raises concerns about internal party processes and inclusiveness.
The meeting, organised by party leaders in Ogun East, reportedly invited a wide range of stakeholders, including deputy governors, current and former local government chairmen, councillors, and members of both the state and National Assembly.
However, Daniel questioned the legitimacy of any resolutions reached without his participation, insisting that decisions taken under such conditions should be considered invalid.
He said the move was surprising given his political standing and contributions to the party in Ogun State.
Observers note that the incident could signal deepening divisions within the APC in the state ahead of future political alignments.
While party officials have yet to issue an official explanation, the situation has sparked reactions among supporters and political analysts, who are calling for clarity and unity within the party structure.
How the APC leadership responds may determine the next phase of internal cohesion in Ogun politics.
