National News – K-pop sensation BTS staged their first concert in nearly four years, drawing an estimated 104,000 fans to Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul.
The seven-member group reunited after a hiatus prompted by mandatory military service, performing before thousands of devoted fans from South Korea and around the world.
The comeback event was set against the iconic Gyeongbokgung Palace, giving the performance a historic and visually striking backdrop.
Glowsticks lit the night as fans sang along, capturing every moment on their phones, while giant screens ensured everyone had a perfect view.
BTS’s latest album, ARIRANG, released just days before the concert, sold nearly four million copies on its first day, highlighting the group’s enduring global popularity.
HYBE reported that the concert attendance fell short of the projected 260,000, with police estimating around 42,000 people.
Netflix livestreamed the show to 190 countries, extending the excitement to millions more worldwide.
Security for the event was massive, with 15,000 police officers and personnel ensuring safety and smooth crowd management.
Following the Seoul show, BTS will kick off their ARIRANG world tour on April 9 in Goyang, South Korea.
The 2026–27 tour spans 82 concerts across 34 cities, covering Asia, North America, Europe, and Latin America.
Tickets for major cities sold out within hours, underscoring the group’s immense international demand.
