National News – Nigerian entertainers have expressed grief and anger following the Palm Sunday killings in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, which occurred on March 2, 2026.

The tragic attack, which left several residents dead and injured, has triggered widespread reactions across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with many celebrities demanding answers over the worsening security situation in the country.

The voices include actors, musicians, comedians and media personalities who used social media platforms to question the causes of the violence and call for stronger government action.

Nollywood actor Kunle Remi was among the first to react publicly. In a video message, he urged Nigerians to reflect the pain of the tragedy in the national mood.

He suggested that citizens symbolically mark the President’s birthday with images representing the grief of victims’ families, highlighting the emotional toll of the killings on the community.

However, singer Brymo disagreed with placing direct blame on the President for the attack.

He argued that responsibility should be attributed to the individuals who carried out the violence rather than automatically assigning blame to the country’s leadership.

Singer Paul Okoye also voiced frustration, lamenting what he described as the nation’s muted response to recurring tragedies.

Meanwhile, media personalities Korty EO and Vee questioned the silence of some public figures, arguing that celebrity influence should be used more actively to speak against insecurity.

Actor and comedian Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, delivered one of the strongest criticisms, describing the current situation as evidence of governance failure.

He said repeated attacks across the country show that the system is not protecting citizens effectively.

Musicians from Jos also reacted. Ice Prince noted that the city has experienced violent unrest for decades, while rapper MI Abaga expressed deep sorrow over the latest killings, describing the tragedy as painful and exhausting for residents.

Other public figures including Peter Okoye, Nathaniel Bassey, Jerry Eze, and Johnson Suleman offered condolences to the victims’ families.

Meanwhile, nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest sparked debate by claiming the attack was politically motivated to embarrass the President.

The incident has renewed calls for urgent action to address insecurity in Plateau State and across Nigeria.
