National News – Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced that he will stage an exclusive live premiere of his forthcoming sixth studio album, Oriade, in London on August 11.
The award-winning singer disclosed the development in a post on his official X account on Friday, inviting fans to the O2 Forum Kentish Town for what he described as a one-time opportunity to experience the album live before its official promotion begins.
“London! Join me on Aug. 11 at the O2 Forum Kentish Town for a very special show,” Davido wrote.
“This will be the first and only chance to hear Oriade performed live, so if you want to experience the new album before anyone else, tickets are on sale now. I’ll see you there!”
The announcement comes ahead of the album’s scheduled release on July 31. Davido had earlier revealed that Oriade would serve as his sixth studio project and celebrate his 15-year journey in the music industry.
The album’s title is derived from the Yoruba words ori (destiny) and adé (crown), translating to “the crowned head.”
Speaking about the project in an earlier interview with Billboard, the singer reflected on his career, saying music had always been his calling.
“Over fifteen years ago, I decided to trust something I couldn’t fully explain. I just knew music was my destiny,” he said.
“The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet.”
The 13-track album is expected to mark a return to Davido’s signature high-energy African sound, moving away from the heavily pop-influenced crossover style featured in some of his previous works.
Its lead single, I Know Who I Be, produced by South African producers Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, has already been released, offering fans an early glimpse of the direction of the project.
Oriade follows Davido’s 2025 album 5ive, which recorded success on the Billboard charts.
