National News – Don Jazzy, founder of Mavin Records, has revealed the emotional circumstances behind parting ways with singer Di’ja.

Speaking on the Crea8torium podcast on Tuesday, he disclosed that the decision, taken within Nigeria’s entertainment industry context, remains one of the hardest moments of his career.

He said the discussion became deeply emotional as both parties broke down during the process.

Don Jazzy explained that he views all his artistes as family, which made the separation particularly painful.

The conversation reportedly took place in a private setting and ended in tears, reflecting the strong bond between label and artiste.

He further revealed that he has now delegated decisions on artiste exits to team members Tega and Rima, citing the emotional toll such situations take on him.

Di’ja joined Mavin Records on February 14, 2014, and released several singles and an EP between 2014 and 2017.

In 2023, she clarified that she never formally exited the label, saying “life happened,” which added context to public discussions about her status.
