National News – The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome corruption and emerge stronger, urging citizens to draw inspiration from the message of Easter.

The anti-graft chief delivered the message on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Abuja while congratulating Christians across the country celebrating the Easter season.

Speaking in his Easter goodwill message, Olukoyede said the Christian celebration symbolises victory over suffering, corruption, and death.

According to him, the deeper meaning of Easter should encourage Nigerians to remain hopeful and united in the country’s ongoing fight against corruption and financial crimes.

Explaining why the message matters, the EFCC chairman noted that corruption remains one of Nigeria’s biggest challenges but insisted the nation has the strength and resilience to overcome it.

He emphasised that the Easter message reflects renewal, sacrifice, and triumph after hardship — values he said are essential in the national anti-corruption campaign.

Olukoyede stated that the EFCC’s relentless fight against economic and financial crimes will continue with renewed commitment.

He reassured Nigerians that the commission is working tirelessly to hold offenders accountable while strengthening transparency and integrity in public institutions.

Highlighting how Nigerians can support the anti-corruption effort, the EFCC boss called for greater cooperation between citizens and law enforcement agencies.

He urged the public to continue providing credible information that could assist investigators in tackling fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes across the country.

The EFCC chairman also encouraged Nigerians to embrace the virtues associated with Easter — sacrifice, righteousness, hope, and renewal — noting that these moral values are crucial in building a corruption-free society.

According to him, defeating corruption requires collective determination from government institutions, private organisations, and ordinary citizens.

He added that Nigeria must remain committed to accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership if the country hopes to achieve sustainable development.

Olukoyede concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful Easter celebration and called on Nigerians of all faiths to remain optimistic about the country’s future despite present challenges.
