National News – Veteran Nollywood actress Lola Alao has revealed that fame and public recognition have taught her one of life’s most important lessons — humility.

The actress shared this insight during a recent interview where she reflected on her career journey, the evolution of Nigeria’s entertainment industry, and her close friendship with fellow actress Iyabo Ojo.

Alao explained who influenced her growth, what fame has taught her, when she realized the value of humility during her career, where the lessons were shaped within the Nigerian film industry, why staying humble matters in entertainment, and how she continues to apply that principle in her life and relationships.

Speaking candidly about her experience in the entertainment industry, Alao said that fame can easily make celebrities lose sight of their values, but she chose a different path.

According to her, the spotlight helped her understand that success should always be accompanied by humility and gratitude.

“Fame has taught me to be humble. Stay humble — that’s the most important thing,” she said.

Alao also highlighted the rapid transformation of the Nigerian movie industry, popularly known as Nollywood.

She noted that the sector has grown tremendously over the years, gaining international recognition and attracting global audiences.

According to the actress, Nollywood is no longer just a local entertainment platform but a global cultural force that showcases Nigerian creativity, storytelling, and talent.

She added that the success of the film industry mirrors the achievements of Nigeria’s music industry, which has also captured worldwide attention.

Beyond her professional journey, Alao spoke warmly about her close bond with Iyabo Ojo.

Describing their relationship as deeply personal, she said their friendship goes beyond the film set and has grown into a family-like connection.

“I am the wrong person to ask about Iyabo. She is my blood, my sister, my very own,” Alao said.

She further described Ojo as a kind-hearted and caring person, adding that they often support each other both personally and professionally.

The veteran actress concluded that strong relationships, humility, and hard work remain essential qualities for anyone hoping to sustain success in the entertainment industry.
