National News – Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has warned convicted actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka to stop mentioning her children in public statements, saying she will pursue legal action if he continues to involve them in his narrative.

The warning came on Sunday through a statement posted on her Instagram page, where the actress accused the actor of using her children to attract public sympathy while discussing past events linked to his criminal case.

Ojo insisted that her children were never left unsupervised around him and emphasised that they should not be dragged into the ongoing public debate surrounding his conviction.

The development follows a series of interviews granted by Baba Ijesha in which he spoke about his past relationship with Ojo and claimed she once entrusted her children, Festus and Priscilla, to his care when they were younger.

Responding to the claims, Ojo stated that her children were always under the supervision of trusted caregivers, including nannies and her late mother, whenever she was away.

She also explained that her former business premises in Ilu-Peju, Lagos, had several employees such as stylists, sales attendants and apprentices, making it unlikely that she would leave her children unattended.

The actress stressed that while Baba Ijesha has the right to share his version of events, involving her children is unacceptable.

According to her, the focus should remain on the court ruling that found him guilty of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, noting that such a crime should never be trivialised.

Ojo said the court’s verdict was based on evidence and urged the actor to show remorse instead of bringing innocent people into the discussion.

She added that any further attempt to mention her children publicly would prompt immediate legal steps from her legal team.

Baba Ijesha had earlier expressed disappointment over his strained relationship with the actress, claiming he never intended to harm anyone and was surprised by her strong public stance against him.

However, Ojo maintained that protecting her children’s privacy and dignity remains her priority and warned the actor to cease referencing them in interviews or public comments.
