National News – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his teenage daughter, Kim Ju Ae, recently tested the country’s latest battle tank during large-scale military drills, state media confirmed.
Images from the exercises showed Kim proudly seated atop the moving tank in his signature leather jacket, while Ju Ae appeared through the tank hatch, signaling her emerging role in the leadership line.
The drills at Pyongyang Training Base No. 60 involved armored units firing advanced anti-tank missiles, while supporting troops targeted simulated enemy drones and helicopters, preparing the path for infantry and armored vehicles.
The new tank is reported to have cutting-edge mobility, firepower, and defense systems, including protection against missiles and drones, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
KCNA highlighted Kim’s satisfaction with the display, stating that the tanks’ powerful advance symbolized the bravery and determination of the North Korean military.
This demonstration comes amid rising regional tensions after North Korea’s recent missile tests and ongoing military exercises by South Korea and the United States.
The Kim family’s long-standing control over North Korea, centered on the “Paektu bloodline,” reinforces the perception of Ju Ae as a designated successor.
South Korea’s national intelligence agency confirmed in February that Ju Ae, believed to be in her early teens, is being groomed to inherit leadership responsibilities.
Recent appearances include firing a pistol and overseeing nuclear-capable rocket tests, enhancing her public profile.
Since her public introduction in 2022 during an intercontinental missile launch, Ju Ae has attracted attention for her luxury fashion choices and for mirroring her father’s distinctive style.
This military showcase underscores North Korea’s ongoing focus on modernization of its armed forces and the strategic grooming of future leadership, signaling continued emphasis on defense and national pride.
