National News – Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has been named among the top three footballers globally by Lucas Torreira, the club’s midfielder.
In a revealing interview with MK News Turkey, Torreira placed the Nigerian forward above stars like Lamine Yamal, Vinícius Jr., Harry Kane, and Erling Haaland.
Torreira highlighted Osimhen’s remarkable form this season, pairing him with Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé as the current elite of world football.
Osimhen, 27, has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray this season.
His performance has been pivotal in the Turkish club’s defense of their Süper Lig title and in leading them to the Champions League Round of 16—the first Turkish team to reach this stage in over ten years.
European giants including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus are reportedly monitoring the striker, though a summer transfer seems unlikely due to his record-breaking salary and personal satisfaction at Galatasaray.
Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has urged his old club to consider signing Osimhen for next season.
Butt expressed concerns over United’s current attacking options, noting that while Benjamin Šeško shows promise, he lacks the consistency to lead the team alone.
“Osimhen has the strength, speed, and versatility to thrive in the Premier League. He scores different types of goals and is a physical presence in the air,” Butt said, adding that he could significantly enhance United’s attack.
Osimhen’s combination of pace, physicality, and finishing ability has drawn wide admiration from football experts and fans alike.
With European clubs closely watching, his next career move could define both his legacy and the fortunes of any team willing to sign him.
