National News – No fewer than 10,000 teachers across Nigeria have successfully registered for the Batch A Professional Qualifying Examination scheduled from May 14–16, 2026, through the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) digital portal.
The Registrar and Chief Executive, Dr. Ronke Soyombo, confirmed that the strong turnout highlights the platform’s reliability and growing acceptance among educators nationwide.
The TRCN digital portal, launched in September 2025 with support from the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa, represents a major step in modernizing teacher registration, licensing, and certification processes.
According to Soyombo, initial technical challenges were due to high traffic, ongoing system upgrades, and the transition from manual to digital processes.
She assured that the portal now operates efficiently and continues to serve teachers without interruptions.
Soyombo added that the successful registration of over 10,000 teachers proves the platform’s functionality and reliability.
“This verifiable record confirms that the system is effective and secure,” she explained.
The TRCN also clarified that it has never authorized banks or third parties to sell registration forms, stressing that registration is exclusively conducted through its official digital portal to ensure transparency and prevent fraud.
The TRCN chief praised teachers for their patience and cooperation and highlighted that continuous improvements are underway to further enhance the digital system.
The portal serves as the only approved channel for teacher registration, licensing, and certification across Nigeria, ensuring that educators can complete the process seamlessly and securely.
With nationwide adoption, the TRCN digital portal is expected to revolutionize teacher management and support better planning and professional development for educators across the country.
The initiative underscores Nigeria’s commitment to integrating technology into educational administration and enhancing the quality of teaching standards.
