Plateau Governor Vows Justice After Jos Attack

National News – Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has pledged justice for victims of the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area.

Visiting the affected community, the Governor expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with grieving families, promising that perpetrators will face the law.

He assured residents that the government would cover medical expenses for the injured and provide proper burials for those killed.

According to the Plateau State Police Command, the attack on Sunday claimed 12 lives, including 10 men and two women.

The state government immediately imposed a 48-hour curfew in Angwan Rukuba, effective from midnight of March 29 to April 1, 2026.

Governor Mutfwang emphasized that security is a collective responsibility, urging traditional leaders, religious authorities, and community members to collaborate with government agencies.

This latest incident follows an ambush in Kanam Local Government Area weeks earlier, where at least 20 security operatives and vigilantes were reportedly killed.

Governor Mutfwang stressed the importance of unity, saying, “Your pain is my pain, and the pain of Plateau State.

We will relentlessly pursue justice until those responsible are held accountable.”

He also reassured citizens that his administration is committed to restoring peace and rebuilding trust across the state.

The Governor’s proactive response highlights the state government’s focus on immediate humanitarian support and long-term security measures.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities and cooperate with law enforcement to prevent future attacks.

This attack underscores ongoing security challenges in Plateau State, where communities face increasing threats from armed groups.
