Stanley Nwabali Exits Chippa United After Transfer Request

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has officially parted ways with Chippa United, ending his stay at the South African club after submitting a formal transfer request.

The Premier Soccer League side confirmed the development on Thursday in a statement shared via its official X account, revealing that the Nigerian international asked to leave the club and was granted his release following internal discussions.

“Chippa United Football Club confirms that Stanley Nwabali has formally submitted a request to depart the club. After careful consideration, the club has agreed to grant his release,” the statement said.

The Chilli Boys also praised the 28-year-old for his professionalism and commitment during his time at the club.

“We sincerely thank Stanley Nwabali for his years of service, dedication, and professionalism. His contribution to Chippa United will always be appreciated,” the club added.

Chippa United wished the goalkeeper well as he prepares for the next stage of his career.
Nwabali joined the club in 2022 but shot into the global spotlight following his heroic displays for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, where the Super Eagles finished second. His performances earned him widespread praise and increased transfer interest.

While his next club has yet to be announced, Nwabali is expected to attract attention from clubs across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East following his AFCON exploits.
