National News – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will begin a two-day working visit to Lagos on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to inaugurate six major infrastructure projects delivered by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The visit, confirmed on Monday by state officials, is aimed at highlighting key development initiatives designed to improve transportation, governance, education, sports, and food logistics across the state.

The projects to be commissioned include the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building in Alausa, the Lagos State Multi-Agency Complex, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, the Maracana Stadium, and the Lagos Food Logistics Hub in Abijo.

Government officials said these projects were completed to address urban infrastructure challenges and support economic growth in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

According to the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Gboyega Akosile, the projects represent “iconic, transformative and legacy developments” undertaken by the Sanwo-Olu administration.

He explained that the President’s visit will formally unveil these facilities and demonstrate ongoing efforts to modernise public infrastructure in the state.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the Opebi–Mende–Ojota Link Bridge was constructed to reduce heavy traffic congestion and provide alternative routes for motorists traveling through major corridors such as Allen, Maryland, Ojota, and Opebi.

The bridge is expected to improve connectivity and shorten travel times for commuters across the metropolis.

Osiyemi also noted that the new Lagos State Geographic Information Service building will strengthen land administration through improved digital records and streamlined property documentation.

The Multi-Agency Complex, located within the state secretariat, will accommodate several government agencies to enhance administrative efficiency.

Other projects focus on education, sports, and agriculture. The Tolu Schools Complex has been upgraded with modern classrooms, ICT laboratories, and improved sports facilities to support learning.

Meanwhile, the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle features 19 mini football pitches aimed at promoting grassroots sports development.

The Lagos Food Logistics Hub in Abijo is expected to improve agro-trade by providing modern storage, distribution, and trading facilities for farmers and food suppliers.

Officials say Tinubu’s visit underscores the state government’s commitment to infrastructure expansion and urban development while supporting economic activity in Lagos.
