The screening, held ahead of the 2027 election cycle, has drawn attention due to the candidate’s youthful appearance and growing influence in grassroots mobilisation.

The screening exercise, which took place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, saw Buba appear before All Progressives Congress screening officials where he was questioned on his age, political ambition, background, and motivation for seeking elective office.

He confirmed during the interview that he is 30 years old, the constitutional minimum age required to contest for the House of Representatives in Nigeria.

Buba also stated that he is the firstborn of nine siblings and entered the race based on calls from his community urging him to serve.

He explained that two aspirants are contesting the party ticket, including himself and the incumbent House of Representatives member, as the APC screening process continues ahead of the general elections.

It is expected that the APC will continue its screening and selection process in Kaduna State as aspirants vie for party tickets ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Buba’s emergence has further intensified discussions on generational shift in leadership and the increasing role of young politicians in shaping Nigeria’s democratic future.

His candidacy continues to attract public attention nationwide.
