National News – Gospel artiste, Ozioma Nicholas, popularly known as Nich Oma, has credited the teachings and support of Archbishop Onyeka Joseph Nzekwesi for helping her rise in Nigeria’s gospel music industry.

The singer made the remarks on Monday during the unveiling of her new extended play titled Omeriwo in Owerri.

Nich Oma, who hails from Enugu State, said the cleric’s spiritual guidance, moral encouragement, and ministerial support played a major role in shaping her music career.

According to the artiste, the archbishop consistently provided opportunities and encouragement that helped her ministry gain recognition across the South-East and beyond.

The gospel singer explained that her relationship with the cleric began when they first met during a church programme.

Since then, she said Archbishop Nzekwesi has remained a dependable mentor and father figure to her and members of her music team.

She added that his influence extended beyond the church altar into personal development and professional growth.

Speaking about her newly released EP, Omeriwo, Nich Oma described the project as a spiritually inspired body of work designed to deepen worship and strengthen listeners’ connection with the Holy Spirit.

The artiste, known for blending Igbo and English lyrics in her songs, said fans should expect uplifting praise and worship tracks capable of inspiring hope and faith.

She further praised the cleric for his kindness and dedication toward supporting young gospel ministers.

According to her, the encouragement and honourarium she received during several ministerial engagements boosted her confidence and contributed significantly to her success in the gospel music scene.

The artiste expressed optimism that Omeriwo would reach global audiences and further expand her influence as one of Nigeria’s emerging gospel music ministers.
