MOSIEND Hails Dokubo-Asari at 62, Describes Him as Symbol of Courage

National News – The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has felicitated Niger Delta leader and traditional ruler, on his 62nd birthday, describing him as a beacon of transformational leadership, courage, and selfless service.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the National Woman Leader of MOSIEND, Amb. Mrs. Tonbra Kilopirite-Kasikoro, the group joined admirers, associates, stakeholders, and well-wishers across the Niger Delta and beyond in celebrating the founder of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force and Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri.

MOSIEND said Dokubo-Asari has distinguished himself as a fearless advocate for justice, equity, and the rights of the people of the Niger Delta, noting that his leadership and influence have continued to resonate within and outside Nigeria.

According to the group, the traditional ruler has remained a royal father to many generations, combining wisdom, compassion, and resilience in championing the aspirations of the Ijaw people and other ethnic nationalities in the region.

The organisation described him as a courageous statesman and peacebuilder whose contributions to the struggle for resource justice and the advancement of the Niger Delta have earned him widespread respect.

“His life’s journey exemplifies resilience, patriotism, loyalty to truth, and selfless service to humanity,” the statement said.

MOSIEND further noted that throughout critical periods in the history of the Niger Delta, Dokubo-Asari stood firmly in defence of the rights, dignity, heritage, and collective aspirations of the people.

The group commended his steadfast commitment to truth and justice, as well as his consistent advocacy on behalf of vulnerable communities across the region.

It added that Dokubo-Asari remains a symbol of courage, honour, unity, and hope for the Kalabari Kingdom, the Ijaw Nation, and the wider Niger Delta.

As part of the celebration, MOSIEND prayed for continued good health, wisdom, strength, and many more years of impactful service for the traditional ruler.

The group described his legacy of leadership, sacrifice, and service to humanity as one that remains deeply appreciated and widely celebrated across the Niger Delta and beyond.
