National News – Ahead of the 2027 senatorial election and the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary in Nasarawa State, supporters of Governor Abdullahi Sule have intensified grassroots consultations to secure the Nasarawa North Senatorial District ticket.

The political mobilisation, held on Tuesday, took place at Mada Station in Agidi Administrative Area of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, where community leaders were engaged in a town hall meeting.

The initiative is led by the Advisory Council of A. A. Sule for Senate, chaired by Timothy Anjide, a former Secretary to the State Government.

Anjide said the campaign aims to present the governor’s record of infrastructure development, agricultural reforms, and inclusive governance as reasons for his emergence as APC flagbearer.

He stated that if elected, Sule would prioritise road rehabilitation, including the reconstruction of the deteriorated Mada Station road, and expand basic amenities across Nasarawa North.

The campaign council also paid homage to the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (retd), seeking royal blessings for a peaceful and issue-based campaign.

The monarch urged aspirants to prioritise unity, peace, and credible elections.

Meanwhile, political rivalry is emerging as former deputy governor Silas Agara has also obtained nomination forms to contest the same senatorial seat, setting the stage for a competitive APC primary.

Stakeholders across Nasarawa North continue consultations as the race gathers momentum.

Analysts note that the Nasarawa North senatorial race is becoming one of the most closely watched contests.

In Nasarawa State politics APC power blocs, traditional institutions, and grassroots groups are influencing delegate decisions ahead of the primaries, as campaign activities intensify across rural communities and administrative centres.
