National News – Abdulrahman Haske, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, has begun a statewide consultation tour across the 21 local government areas ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The engagement started on Monday, May 11, 2026, as part of a five-day mobilisation drive.
The campaign statement said nine LGAs have been visited so far. These include Ganye, Toungo, Jada, Mayo-Belwa, Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng, Numan and Demsa.
At each stop, Haske met traditional rulers, youth groups, women associations and political stakeholders.
Discussions focused on local development needs and governance priorities across communities.
He restated his commitment to inclusive governance. He also emphasized youth empowerment, agricultural revitalisation, education development and sustainable economic growth.
Haske said citizens’ voices would guide his political vision if elected in 2027. He added that grassroots participation remains central to his campaign strategy.
During a visit to the Gangwari Ganye, he presented utility vehicles to support traditional institutions.
The gesture was described as part of strengthening community partnerships.
Political support also emerged during the tour.
Former Deputy Governor Martin Babale, former PDP state chairman Abubakar Shehu and Mansur Toungo praised his leadership qualities.
They described him as a competent and unifying political figure with strong administrative experience.
The tour will continue across Michika, Madagali, Mubi North and Mubi South. Other stops include Maiha, Hong, Gombi, Song, Girei, Fufure, Yola North and Yola South.
The consultations aim to strengthen party structures and expand grassroots support ahead of the 2027 elections. They also serve as a platform to gather feedback from residents across the state.
Analysts say the engagements reflect rising political activity in Adamawa State. Aspirants are increasingly focusing on direct community interaction ahead of the next general elections.
