National News – Former APC deputy governorship candidate, Great Joshua Maciver, has affirmed his total support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
In a statement released to the press in Yenagoa, titled “Bayelsa APC Congresses: Going Forward, A Call to Look Inwards,” Maciver declared that the re-election of President Tinubu remains the core interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that loyalty to this cause is “non-negotiable.”
However, he advised members of the APC in Bayelsa State to unify their interests and put aside personal agendas to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
“If we do not pull together as a party, we may witness a situation where we lose key stakeholders, especially after the state and National Assembly primaries, as well as the governorship primaries,” he said.
Maciver noted that before the defection of Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, to the APC, the party consisted of two political blocs with an approximate population ratio of 95% to 5%.
He added that since the governor’s defection, only a small fraction of APC members have been carried along by the administration.
“This situation has the potential to breed anger and dissatisfaction within our dear party,” Maciver said.
He encouraged APC members in Bayelsa who feel sidelined not to be discouraged, but to remain committed to the party’s collective goal.
Maciver stressed that while the APC remains the party to beat in the 2027 elections, underestimating political opponents could prove fatal.
“Our concern is that we must, as a party, look inwards and ensure that we do not create loopholes that could impede our common goal,” he said.

He also used the opportunity to congratulate party members on the success of the recently concluded state congress.
“Particularly, I wish to congratulate our new State Party Chairman, Hon. Warman Ogoriba, as well as his executive committee, on their emergence at this critical time in our national history.”
