National News – The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday conducted ward congresses across all 226 wards in the 21 local government areas of Adamawa State.

The exercise, which took place on April 13, 2026, was described by party officials as peaceful and well-organised, with consensus arrangements adopted in most areas to select ward leaders.

Speaking in Girie Local Government Area, the chairman of the congress committee, Ephraim Agber, said the process reflected unity within the party.

According to him, members turned out in large numbers, celebrating outcomes without disputes.

He added that the smooth conduct of the congresses signals strong grassroots support for the APC ahead of future elections, particularly the 2027 general polls.

Agber also praised the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, noting that the peaceful exercise demonstrates effective governance and political coordination in the state.

He urged residents to continue backing both the governor and President Bola Tinubu, stating that Nigeria’s economic growth prospects are tied to the current administration’s policies and blueprint.

A former member of the House of Representatives representing Hong/Gombi Federal Constituency, Emmanuel Bello, also commended the process.

He described the congresses as transparent and rancour-free, urging the governor to sustain fairness and inclusive governance.

Bello noted that the unity displayed during the exercise sends a strong message to opposition parties about APC’s preparedness.

Similarly, party chieftain Suleiman Kakanda expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 elections.

He called on party members to remain united and work collectively to secure victory in all elective positions.

The ward congresses mark the first phase of the party’s internal electoral process, with local government congresses scheduled to hold later in the week.

Observers say the outcome could shape APC’s political structure and influence its performance in upcoming elections.
