APGA Vows Transparent Primaries, Warns Against Fraudsters

National News – The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent primary elections ahead of upcoming political contests.

The party made this known on Wednesday through its National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, who addressed concerns over alleged impersonation and manipulation within the nomination process.

Speaking on behalf of the party’s national leadership, Opara disclosed that certain individuals have been falsely presenting themselves as emissaries of the National Chairman and the National Working Committee.

He described such actors as fraudsters attempting to exploit aspirants and members.

According to him, APGA has not authorised any intermediaries to act on its behalf in matters relating to primaries.

He warned aspirants and stakeholders to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with unauthorised persons.

The party also urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious individuals to appropriate authorities for disciplinary action.

This move, he said, is part of APGA’s broader effort to safeguard the credibility of its internal democratic processes.

Addressing the issue of inducement, Opara stressed that financial incentives or any form of bribery remain serious violations under the party’s constitution.

He added that both those offering and receiving such inducements would face strict sanctions if found guilty.

The enforcement of the party’s code of conduct, he noted, remains a top priority throughout the nomination period.

APGA reiterated that the will of its members would solely determine the emergence of candidates.

The party emphasized that no external influence or manipulation would be tolerated, assuring Nigerians of a transparent and accountable process.

The statement comes amid growing scrutiny of political party primaries across the country, as stakeholders demand greater accountability and internal democracy.

APGA maintained that it is committed to setting a standard by ensuring fairness, credibility, and equal opportunity for all aspirants.
