National News – Global K-pop sensation BTS dominated the 2026 American Music Awards, winning Artist of the Year for the second straight year at the star-studded event held in Las Vegas.
The seven-member group defeated top international acts including Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny in the fan-voted category.
The award ceremony celebrated some of the biggest names in global music, but BTS emerged as the night’s biggest winner.
The South Korean group also claimed Best Male K-pop Artist and Song of the Summer for their hit single Swim.
Their latest album Arirang has continued to dominate charts worldwide following the group’s return from military service earlier this year.
During their acceptance speech, BTS leader RM thanked the loyal BTS Army fanbase for supporting the group’s success.
Member Jimin also praised fans for turning out in large numbers during the band’s ongoing world tour across the United States.
The ceremony also featured emotional reunion moments as Black Eyed Peas reunited with former member Fergie on stage after winning Best Throwback Song for Rock That Body.
Veteran rocker Billy Idol received the Lifetime Achievement Award and performed some of his classic hits.
Other major winners included Sabrina Carpenter, who secured Album of the Year, while PinkPantheress won Collaboration of the Year.
Hosted by Queen Latifah, the event highlighted the growing global influence of K-pop and fan-driven music awards.
