National News – The City Boy Movement in Oyo State has intensified political mobilisation ahead of the 2026 elections, reaffirming support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and the return of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power in Oyo State.
The group’s director, Olufemi Onireti, stated this on Friday, May 2, 2026, emphasizing coordinated grassroots engagement across wards and local government areas.
He said the movement is working with party structures and stakeholders to secure victory at both federal and state levels.
The political group said its mission is driven by the need to strengthen governance and ensure continuity of Tinubu’s policies across Nigeria, particularly in Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria.
Onireti explained that the group operates as a grassroots network of committed members who understand local realities and community needs.
The movement also commended President Tinubu for addressing long-standing national challenges and laying foundations for economic stability, urging residents not to relent in their support.
According to the group, sustained unity and participation of citizens will determine electoral success and governance outcomes.
Onireti stressed that the campaign is not just political but a civic responsibility aimed at improving representation and development in the state.
Analysts say the renewed mobilisation reflects early positioning by political blocs ahead of the polls, as parties seek to consolidate influence in strategic states like Oyo.
The City Boy Movement further urged supporters to remain steadfast, promising continued engagement and communication with communities to align with citizens’ expectations and improve electoral participation.
The group reiterated that its mobilisation effort is peaceful, structured, and focused on democratic participation, calling on youths and community leaders to play active roles in shaping the outcome of the elections across the state.
