Ekiti Police Arrest Two Suspected Drug Dealers

National News – The Police in Ekiti State have apprehended two suspected illicit drug dealers in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Identified as Promise Faṣọla and Ileri-Oluwa Alao, the suspects were caught following a raid on an illegal drugs marketing hub at Alade Garage Area, Basiri.

Authorities recovered Colorado, Indian hemp, Loud, a POS machine, an Android phone, and a power bank, among other items.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, the suspects admitted to dealing in illicit drugs.

They are currently under investigation and will be charged to court.

Abutu revealed that intelligence-led policing by the Divisional Police Officer of New Iyin Division led to the raid.

He added that law enforcement efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects linked to the operation.

The raid aligns with directives from the Commissioner of Police, Michael Falade, who has mandated DPOs and heads of tactical units to continuously target criminal hideouts to rid Ekiti State of illicit activities.

Abutu encouraged the public to provide timely and credible information on criminal activities to aid the police in prompt interventions.

This operation underscores the state’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring community safety.
