National News – Frank Edoho, the long-time host of Nigeria’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, has disclosed details of his early earnings on the popular television game show, revealing that his initial salary was modest despite the glamorous image he projected on screen.

He made the revelation in Lagos during a seminar shared on his social media page on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, explaining that he hosted the show in Nigeria with confidence and style while earning just over ₦100,000 monthly for his first two years.

The Who Wants to Be a Millionaire program, aired nationwide, became a household favourite, with Edoho as its charismatic face.

According to him, the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host maintained a wealthy appearance, wearing tailored suits and presenting an affluent persona even when his pay did not match the image.

This highlights the contrast between public perception and behind-the-scenes earnings in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Edoho explained that his financial situation improved significantly after MTN became a major sponsor of the show.

He negotiated directly with the production boss, proposing a new figure, which was accepted along with three months’ back pay, marking a turning point in his career earnings.

Following the adjustment, he received increased opportunities, including event hosting and frequent travel engagements, which boosted his visibility and income.
