The Islamic Republic of Iran has formally accused the United States and Israel of committing “criminal military aggression” against its territory, promising a firm and decisive response from its armed forces.
According to a statement from Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the strikes targeted both defensive infrastructure and civilian locations across multiple cities, violating Iran’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The alleged attacks reportedly occurred on the eve of Nowruz and during the tenth day of Ramadan. Iran referred to Israel as the “Zionist regime” and described the strikes as a blatant provocation against the Iranian nation.
The ministry stressed that these actions occurred even as Iran engaged in ongoing diplomatic negotiations with the United States, aiming to resolve disputes peacefully and exhaust all avenues in the international arena.
“Iran did everything necessary to prevent war,” the statement said. “Now is the time to defend the homeland and confront the enemy’s military assault.”
The Iranian Armed Forces have affirmed their readiness to respond and protect national sovereignty using all available resources.
Citing international law, the ministry labeled the strikes a violation of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter and defended Iran’s right to self-defense under Article 51.
Tehran also urged the UN Security Council and member states, particularly regional and Islamic countries, to condemn the attacks and take urgent action to maintain international peace and security.
“This is a historic and decisive moment. Iranians have never bowed to foreign aggression,” the ministry emphasized. “The response of our nation will be firm and unwavering.”
The situation has heightened global tensions, drawing attention to ongoing Middle East security challenges and international diplomatic efforts to prevent escalation.
