National News – Victor Osimhen has issued a stern warning to Liverpool ahead of the UEFA Champions League second leg, insisting that Galatasaray can “do some damage” at Anfield.
The Nigerian striker, who gave the assist in the first leg to secure a 1-0 victory for the Turkish giants at RAMS Park, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to maintain their strong form away from home.
Osimhen’s performance this season has further cemented his status as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards, attracting interest from top Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United.
Reports suggest a potential transfer could reach €140 million, underscoring his immense value in the European football market.
Osimhen praised his teammates for their effort against Liverpool, highlighting the emotional significance of playing at home.
“Every time we play here it’s so emotional for us. Aside from that, the victory is important,” he said. He added,
“We know next week is going to be really hard, but I believe in this team and the kind of performance we put in against a very good side like Liverpool.
I’m optimistic that we can do some damage there at Anfield.”
The forward also stressed that Galatasaray will review their performance and work to improve ahead of the return leg.
According to SportsBoom, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta views Osimhen as a key addition to his frontline, calling him the “final piece of the puzzle” for the Gunners’ attack.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is reportedly under pressure from club legends like Rio Ferdinand to pursue the striker aggressively, with Chelsea also linked to a potential move.
Any transfer is expected to command between €120 million and €140 million, a record-breaking fee in the Süper Lig.
For now, Osimhen remains focused on helping Galatasaray advance further in Europe’s premier club competition.
His combination of skill, scoring ability, and leadership has made him a pivotal figure in Galatasaray’s campaign, while his rising market value continues to attract attention from top European clubs.
Fans and football enthusiasts will be closely watching both his performances at Anfield and developments regarding his potential transfer in the coming summer window.
