National News – A surge of Lego-style AI-generated propaganda videos linked to Iran has gone viral across social media platforms, raising global concerns about disinformation and influence campaigns.
At the centre of the campaign is a group called Explosive Media, whose representative—known as Mr Explosive—creates fast-paced, Lego-inspired AI videos depicting conflict narratives involving US figures such as Donald Trump and scenes of Middle East warfare designed to attract massive engagement online.
Experts say the clips represent a new form of “memetic warfare,” where AI tools trained on Western datasets are used to craft culturally familiar content that spreads rapidly, with some videos reportedly reaching hundreds of millions of views since the Iran–US conflict escalated in 2025.
We spoke to the operator behind Explosive Media, who initially denied working for the Iranian government but later admitted the regime is a “customer.”
He defended the content as political messaging, despite evidence of inaccuracies and fabricated scenarios, including disputed military incidents and conspiracy-driven narratives that experts warn blur reality and fuel online polarization.
Analysts warn that the rise of AI-generated propaganda, amplified by social platforms and reposted by state-linked accounts, is reshaping digital diplomacy.
The trend highlights growing risks in verifying truth online, especially during ongoing geopolitical tensions where speed of content often outpaces fact-checking and traditional media response.
As the war continues, experts expect such content to expand further in scale and sophistication.
Authorities and platforms continue to monitor and remove coordinated accounts.
