National News – Iran is currently reviewing a United States-backed proposal aimed at ending escalating tensions and the ongoing conflict linked to nuclear concerns and regional security.

The development comes as US President Donald Trump said the war involving Iran could be “over quickly”, suggesting that diplomatic momentum is building.

The proposal reportedly described as a 14-point memorandum of understanding is believed to include suspension of Iran’s uranium enrichment activities, easing of sanctions, and restoration of safe maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

The talks are being mediated through Pakistan, which has indicated efforts to transform the fragile ceasefire discussions into a lasting peace arrangement.

According to officials, Iran is assessing the proposal before responding formally through mediators.

Trump has insisted that most stakeholders recognize the goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons while also hinting that recent discussions with Tehran have been positive.

However Iranian lawmakers have dismissed the offer as a “wish list”, while stressing readiness to respond strongly if negotiations fail.

The negotiations between the United States, Iran, and regional mediators, with Pakistan facilitating, are aimed at preventing escalation and building a nuclear and regional security framework.

US President Donald Trump expressed optimism that the crisis will end soon, citing recent positive talks with Iranian officials.

He reiterated that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons, warning of stronger military action if a deal fails.

Reports point to a possible 14-point US-Iran memorandum under consideration, though unconfirmed.

The proposal is said to combine sanctions relief with strict limits on uranium enrichment and protections for oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global route.

Iranian officials remain cautious, with lawmakers rejecting the plan as a “wish list” while the foreign ministry confirms it is still under review via Pakistani mediators.

Tensions persist due to ongoing regional strikes and maritime enforcement actions, even as ceasefire efforts continue.

Analysts say the outcome could reshape global oil prices, Middle East stability, and US-Iran relations depending on whether diplomacy succeeds or collapses.
