National News – The National Association of Nigerian Students has praised Dapo Abiodun and the All Progressives Congress for endorsing Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Ogun State.
The endorsement was announced on Monday during a high-level APC caucus meeting focused on succession planning and political strategy ahead of the next election cycle.
According to NANS, the decision reflects a commitment to continuity, progressive governance, and youth inclusion.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Samson Adeyemi, the student body described the move as bold and strategic, noting that it signals stability within the APC and a clear direction for leadership transition in the state.
The association highlighted Adeola’s track record, particularly in education, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.
It stated that his legislative efforts have positively impacted many young Nigerians, especially students, making him a strong candidate capable of sustaining developmental progress.
NANS also commended Governor Abiodun for what it called purposeful leadership and foresight in supporting a transition built on competence, credibility, and grassroots connection.
The group said such planning is essential for maintaining growth and political stability in Ogun State.
While expressing confidence in Adeola’s leadership potential, the association urged him to maintain active engagement with students and young people.
It emphasized the need for policies that promote educational advancement and socio-economic opportunities for youths.
Furthermore, NANS called on political stakeholders to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process as preparations for the 2027 governorship election intensify.
