National News – Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State staged a massive solidarity rally on Monday in Lafia to support the governorship ambition of Ahmed Aliyu Wadada ahead of the 2027 elections.

The demonstration, which drew a large crowd, saw supporters march through major streets to the party’s secretariat and Government House, signaling strong grassroots backing.

The rally was organised by the Wadada Ambassadors, a political support group led by Zaidu Aliyu Tanko, who described Wadada as a capable and experienced leader with the vision to drive sustainable growth in the state.

According to Tanko, the senator’s track record in public service, combined with his leadership qualities and inclusiveness, makes him the preferred candidate for the governorship race.

Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, was endorsed for his contributions to infrastructure development, education, and youth empowerment across the state’s 13 local government areas.

Supporters emphasized that his political strength and connection with the people position him as a strong contender to succeed the current administration in 2027.

Speaking at the event, the state APC chairman, Aliyu Bello, commended the group for conducting a peaceful and issue-based campaign.

He urged party members to maintain unity and avoid political attacks, stressing that collaboration would be key to retaining power beyond the next election cycle.

Bello also highlighted the developmental strides of Governor Abdullahi Sule, noting that the state capital has witnessed significant transformation under his leadership.

He assured supporters that the party would back any candidate eventually endorsed to ensure continuity and progress.

The rally underscores growing political momentum around Wadada’s candidacy, as party stakeholders mobilise support early in preparation for the 2027 governorship contest in Nasarawa State.
