National News – Chibuzor Chinyere, founder of Omega Power Ministries, has disclosed that his church provides free rehabilitation for repentant kidnappers, armed robbers, and cultists.

The initiative, which has run for over 15 years, aims to curb crime by reforming offenders through spiritual guidance and vocational training.

Chinyere revealed on Wednesday via Facebook that the programme is funded entirely through tithes and offerings.

According to him, individuals rescued from criminal camps voluntarily surrender their weapons, which are then handed over to law enforcement authorities.

They are also taken to police headquarters for proper documentation and processing before undergoing rehabilitation.

He explained that the reformation process involves both spiritual and practical elements.

Beneficiaries are baptised and enrolled in structured programmes designed to transform their lives.

“They undergo spiritual and physical rehabilitation,” he stated, adding that many participants have abandoned crime and embraced legitimate means of livelihood.

As part of the initiative, participants receive hands-on training in various vocational skills.

These include furniture making, welding, tailoring, electrical and electronics work, scaffolding, ICT, and oil and gas-related trades.

The goal, according to Chinyere, is to equip them with sustainable skills that enable reintegration into society and reduce the likelihood of returning to crime.

The cleric noted that the programme has contributed to supporting security agencies in reducing crime rates, as many former offenders have successfully transitioned into productive citizens.

He emphasised that the effort reflects a long-term commitment to social impact and community development.

The development comes amid growing public attention on the pastor’s philanthropic activities, including support for vulnerable individuals and social welfare initiatives across Nigeria.
