National News – Acting chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Osun State, Kazeem Oyewale, has denied allegations linking him to an alleged assassination attempt on Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red, the son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Oyewale described the claims as false and politically motivated while calling for police protection over alleged threats to his life.
The controversy began after Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, accused hoodlums allegedly loyal to Oyewale, also known as Asiri Eniba, of attacking B-Red near the Oke-Fia area of Osogbo, close to the Osun Government House.
The state government claimed the incident was an attempted assassination targeting the governor’s son.
Reacting during a press briefing in Osogbo on Monday, Oyewale rejected the accusation and threatened legal action against the state government.
He insisted he had no involvement in any attack and accused officials of trying to tarnish his image ahead of future political activities in the state.
Oyewale, an APC chieftain in Osun State, appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to intervene and ensure his safety.
According to him, government officials have allegedly targeted him and his supporters through intimidation and threats of arrest.
He also alleged that his younger brother was killed in November 2022 and claimed the body had not been released to the family.
Oyewale further dismissed allegations linking him to billboard destruction and political violence, maintaining that he was being unfairly blamed for conflicts involving rival political groups in Osun State.
The APC leader urged his supporters not to panic, saying he remained confident that the allegations against him would not stand in court.
