National News – Veteran Nollywood actor and broadcaster Patrick Doyle has announced the heartbreaking loss of his newborn daughter, just hours after celebrating her arrival with his wife, Funmilayo Doyle.

The tragic incident occurred between Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11, 2026, marking a devastating turn for the family shortly after welcoming their child.

The actor disclosed the news via a Facebook post on Sunday evening, revealing that the baby, named Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle, was born at about 10:40 a.m. on Friday but passed away at approximately 4:15 p.m. the following day.

According to Doyle, the child’s brief stay brought immense joy despite the painful outcome.

Explaining the situation, Doyle expressed deep faith and acceptance, stating that although the family wished for more time with their daughter, they believed in God’s will.

His message emphasized resilience, gratitude, and spiritual strength in the face of personal tragedy.

The announcement came just hours after the actor had earlier shared news of the baby’s birth, describing her as a “precious addition” to the family.

The sudden loss has since drawn emotional reactions across social media, with fans, colleagues, and well-wishers offering condolences and prayers.

Doyle was previously married to Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle, with whom he shares children. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2023.
