National News – Peter Mbah has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election in Enugu State after securing endorsement during the party’s primary election held on Thursday.

The chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, Danmalikin Hausa, announced the result in Enugu on Friday, stating that 397,370 accredited party members participated across the state’s 260 wards.

Hausa described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible, noting that party members demonstrated unity, discipline and internal democracy throughout the process.

He commended the leadership of Bola Tinubu and the APC national executives for ensuring smooth governorship primaries across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking after his confirmation as the party’s sole candidate, Mbah thanked APC leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.

He described the development as a defining political moment for the ruling party in Enugu State and pledged to continue promoting unity, inclusion and development across the state.

The governor stated that the endorsement reflected the commitment of party members toward a shared vision for Enugu’s future.

According to him, the APC in the state has remained focused on dialogue, sacrifice and cooperation, which have strengthened the party ahead of the next election cycle.

Mbah also stressed that his administration has remained committed to accountability, transparency and service delivery over the past three years.

He highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects and policies implemented across major sectors, insisting that his government had fulfilled several campaign promises made to residents.

The APC governorship primary in Enugu adds to the growing momentum within the party as preparations intensify for the 2027 governorship elections nationwide.
