National News – President Bola Tinubu has declared he will not be forced out of office by rising insecurity, reaffirming his intention to seek a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He made this known in Abuja while receiving Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and other political stakeholders, addressing growing public concern over persistent attacks, kidnappings, and killings across parts of the country.

Speaking during the meeting, Tinubu said critics linking insecurity to his leadership were indirectly supporting political opponents and hostile elements seeking to destabilise his administration.

He stressed that despite mounting pressure and national anxiety over safety, his government remains committed to tackling security threats through strengthened support for law enforcement agencies and strategic interventions.

The President, known for his firm political stance, described himself as resolute and unwilling to back down under pressure.

He insisted that attempts to use insecurity as a political weapon would not succeed, emphasizing that governance requires persistence even in difficult times.

Tinubu also reiterated that security agencies are being equipped and repositioned to restore order nationwide.

The remarks come amid renewed scrutiny from opposition figures, civil society organisations, and citizens who have called for more decisive action to address insecurity.

Analysts say the President’s comments signal an early political posture ahead of the next election cycle, as debates intensify around leadership performance and national stability.

Observers note that while the administration continues to defend its efforts, public expectations remain high, with many Nigerians demanding visible improvements in safety and accountability.

The coming months are expected to test both the government’s security strategy and its political resilience.
